"Are you and I daily reading, studying, and searching the scriptures in a way that enables us to hold fast to the rod of iron—or are you and I merely clinging? Are you and I pressing forward toward the fountain of living waters—relying upon the word of God? These are important questions for each of us to ponder prayerfully."

What I want for Christmas
Cleaning out the freezer
Today was the day that I was finally fed up enough to do something about the freezer in the garage. I'm home sick from school and go to the freezer to find some juice and frozen food falls out on my head. I've been meaning to defrost and clean it for the last two years, but just never got around to it. When I have time in the summer it is too hot and what would I do with all the frozen food to keep it frozen? Last night it snowed and the wind is whistling and blowing around the house this morning. So I donned my coat and gloves, and Pearl and I went to the garage to tackle the freezer. Do you know how many packages of mixed vegetables I had? I don't even use mixed vegetables.! I threw out some pretty disgusting "stuff" that I couldn't identify. Now as it is defrosting, I am making a master list to go on the front of the freezer so I'll know what I put in and take out. I used to do this when I was a young mother and much busier than I am now. So my whole point in telling you this, is DON'T GET LAZY IN YOUR OLD AGE!!!

Thankful IT'S over
We just got home from our Thanksgiving dinner at Rich and Linda's. It was NOT peaceful. We got there and they were both in a tizy. The turkey didn't turn out, it was dry and tough as shoe leather. Rich was yelling because he told Linda to get a ham earlier in the week. She had called me and asked my opinion, I said we didn't need it. I was trying to save her the extra work. But somehow, it comes full circle back to being my fault. LOL! They are so crazy. So Rich stormed off to the store to buy a ham. I got an instant stomach ache and couldn't eat a thing. I love Thanksgiving dinner. It's my favorite meal of the year. So Linda had told us to come at 3:00 and we would eat at 3:30. So Jason being the smarta@# that he is (he loves to get his dad going) started announcing that in 12 minutes it would be 3:30. Every few minutes he gave a time check countdown. Well Rich got PISSED!!! He told Jason to shut up and that he was getting on his f-ing nerves. Jason whispered to me, "we are eating and then we're sooo outta here!" Then Rich spills something and the f-bomb landed again. When BOTH my boys spilled their drinks during dinner, I thought for sure he would flip the table over on top of us. So, I'm thankful it's over and we are home. Let me end by saying how much I love you all and miss you more than ever!!!!

Thanksgiving plans?
What's everyone doing for Thanksgiving? I'm so sad I can't be with my family for the holidays!! Kallen got laid off last Friday (that's on the things you should know list) so we'll be sticking pretty close to home for the next little while until he gets a new job squared away. We are driving to northern California tonight though after I get off work. We'll spend the holiday with Kallen's family and head home on Sunday. I don't know if I'm ready for the cold weather-we're still in the mid 70's here! Love you all and hope you have a happy thanksgiving. I'm grateful for all of you....especially uncle bob ;)
Way to go Benny!
This is such a good idea! So you have proved to not only be damn sexy, but smart as well :) This will be fun. Like mom said, if we just take a minute and kept up with it every day or so. And yes dad, I do NOT have fond memories of the Bodkin mobile! But it beats the wood paneled station wagon with dried cherry vomit imbedded in the pleather rear facing back seat! (gotta love those temple trips!)

You have my blessings for bloggiing
This is the big GG and I think this is a great idea! Thanks to Ben for getting us started as family bloggers. I hope to see lots of pictures of grandbabies! I hope to hear lots of good experiences you all are having. It really only will take a few minutes each night for everyone to add something. Oh, oh......it's 11 o'clock and I have school tomorrow! Gots to go get my beauty rest. I sure do love all of yous.
P.S.
Can we change the name of the blog? Like to "PP and GG Family" instead of "Familily". You know, looks kinda silly.
Great
Good idea....and Melissa is especially going to enjoy the name "Bodkin". Does that remind you of a red Astro van? Errrrrrrp.
Welcome to the blog!
Bodkin,
I have set this blog up for the Bodkin; this can be a meeting place for all the family. Please continue to blog on your own sites for your friends and what not, I just feel this may be a great way for us to stay connected more often. So jump on in and feel free to add whatever you wish.
